EMailImage
Overview
 The Wiki source |
 The Wiki page |
 The generated html source |
This plugin searches for e-mail address links of your wiki pages (if any) and replaces it with an automatically generated image. This image is clickable, so your visitors can still click on it to open their e-mail client. To protect the e-mail address the link will be encrypted (and automatically decrypted using JavaScript) so it is as hard as possible to prevent unwanted access to the e-mail address. This helps to prevent spam.
Installation
You only need to download the plugin and upload it into your Wiki (Administration - Provider).
Instructions
Basically you only need to install the plugin.
But:
Please keep in mind a Wiki allows anonymous users to view the Wiki source code. But this plugin does not modify the Wiki source itself. So if you really want to protect e-mail addresses you need to do one of the following, too:
- Disallow anonymous user to view the Wiki source code
- Place the E-Mail addresses into a snippet and add this to your Wiki page. Using this anonymous user can only see the reference to the snippet.
What else you should know
The generated image is not stored physically, it is placed into the asp.net cache. I have added a FileProvider to get the images because this makes it easier to automatically delete the images after some time (1 minute) and if it was requested by the visitor's browser. This file provider is except for this useless for you, it can't be used for anything else except this automatically generated e-mail images. It is read only and you will never see any file stored in it. Simply ignore it :)
License
The license... It's such kind of do whatever you want, except to steal my source code and publish it as your own. :)
Use at your own risk! I'm a beginner with this Wiki, so something may not work which I haven't seen.
